Addition codes are required to identify robot locomotive sets (Distributed Power Units) capable of remote-control operation in conjunction with locomotive units at the train's head end. Distributed Power Units are placed in the middle (cut-in) or at the rear of heavy trains (such as coal, grain, soda ash and even manifest) to help climb steep grades. The additional codes will be used in the FAC segment within the 161 Train Sheet transaction set.
