A special workgroup was formed to develop an 824 implementation guide to facilitate use of the standard to report semantic errors detected by the receiver of an X12 transaction. These are being addressed in DM 025102 for the 824.

In addition, the group identified code values that would be needed to report implementation guide syntax errors in the 997.
