LX loop limit:

Current LX loop at 0400 level has the limitation of 9999. We are requesting that Loop repeat count for this LX loop to be set as 'more than one' (>1).

Many of UPS's trading partner's billing data goes over the current limit of 9999. This loop is used to send them detail bill of their packages shipped by UPS. We can not request it to be set to specific number because specific number can not be determined since trading partners can ship as many packages as they want.

As per X12 - Design rule 2.2.8 and 2.3.5 above request is valid.

2 Design Rules

2.2.8 Maximum use designations for segments shall be set at a specific number of iterations to meet a demonstrated business need. If a specific number of iterations cannot be determined or is unknown then 'more than one' (>1) shall be used.

2.3.5 Loop repeat counts shall be set at a specific number of iterations or "more than one."

L11 Maximum use designation limit increase:

Current L11 segment at 0400 level has the maximum use of 5, we are requesting that it be increase to 20.

Many of UPS's trading partners have need to receive more than five reference numbers on their package.
