Falls Church, VA and Bellevue, WA, August 4, 2005 – The Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X12 and Edifecs, Inc. are pleased to announce a renewal of the agreement that gives X12 members access to Edifecs SpecBuilder ™ for use in X12 standards development. Edifecs SpecBuilder 6.1 is a guideline authoring tool, which provides the ability to create, customize, and publish guidelines, generate test data, compare and migrate different versions of guidelines, and facilitates a rich QA environment for data testing.
As CICA message development proliferates in ASC X12, ASC X12 has revamped and enhanced its Tools for Members program and called for technology provider contributions to help accelerate and harmonize the development of CICA components across the Committee.
“We are so pleased to have Edifecs join the newly invigorated X12 Tools for Members Program,” said ASC X12 Chair Ralph Berwanger. “The Edifecs product will help X12ers ease interoperability issues from a cross-section of industries and business processes.”
Edifecs SpecBuilder includes support for a rich set of EDI standards including X12 and UN/EDIFACT, healthcare EDI standards such as HIPAA, HL7, and NCPDP, flat file formats, and XML based formats like XML Schema (XSD).
“We have enjoyed working with the developers of X12 and believe in the value of contributing to the standards development process,” said Andrea Danes, Edifecs Association Partner Program Coordinator. “Deepening Edifecs partnership with ASC X12 by providing additional licenses of SpecBuilder 6.1 aligns with our goals of helping our clients achieve the highest possible degree of automation and efficiency through the use of EDI and related standards such as X12.”
ASC X12 members meet face-to-face three times per year to develop X12 standards, with the next meeting taking place September 25-30, 2005 in Atlanta. Additional information on ASC X12 CICA, tools for X12 members, membership and upcoming meetings can be found on its web site at http://www.X12.org.
