Falls Church, Va., April 3, 2006 - The Data Interchange Standards Association (DISA), a not-for-profit organization that supports the development of cross-industry e-business interchange standards, announced its call for 2006 Edward A. Guilbert E-Commerce Professional Award nominations.
Created in 1991, the Edward A. Guilbert Award honors a select group of professionals who have made significant and enduring contributions to the e-business community. The award is named after Edward A. Guilbert who served as a logistics officer during the Berlin Airlift of 1948 and later created the first system to exchange data electronically.
Nominees will be evaluated on the scope, duration, quality and impact of service toward the advancement of e-business and EDI standards.
Nomination information can be found online and must be received by June 16, 2006. Winners will be announced on September 25 in Boston during a special ceremony at the Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X12 meeting.
