Falls Church, VA May 12, 2008 – The Data Interchange Standards Association (DISA), a not-for-profit organization that supports the development of cross-industry e-business interchange standards, has hired Patrice Scheyer as the Director of Marketing and Communications.

Ms. Scheyer will develop DISA’s mission to expand and implement highly strategic programs and activities that foster the growth of standards used for business-to-business data exchange. She is responsible for managing the development and implementation of dynamic marketing programs, event and service promotions and for creating content to enhance DISA’s brand and communications strategies.

“Patrice’s experience building brands across vertical markets and driving revenue and growth for non-profit organizations make her an outstanding addition to DISA and a valuable resource to our members,” said Jerry Connors, DISA President and CEO. “She has the demonstrated business leadership and skills needed to develop the essential role industry groups play in advancing e-commerce standards.”

Prior to joining DISA, Ms. Scheyer served as Senior Manager, Creative Strategies and Programs, for the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and was responsible for strategic marketing, partnerships and logistics for the International CES, an event representing 96 percent of the consumer electronics industry’s $146 billion buying power. She also held marketing and membership positions at the International Communications Industries Association (ICIA)/Infocomm International and World Learning’s International Education and Exchange Program. Ms. Scheyer’s work was recognized with high honors from the American Marketing Association and the International Association for Exposition Executives (IAEE).

Fluent in Spanish, she holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Literature and Rhetoric and also Spanish from the State University of New York at Binghamton and studied English literature at the University of London, King’s College.
