X12 incumbent Chair and Vice-Chair return for 2017 – 2019 terms.
X12's Accredited Standards Committee conducted elections during the recent X12 Standing Meeting, held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Gary Beatty, of Optum was re-elected Chair and LuAnn Hetherington, of Highmark, was re-elected Vice-Chair unanimously by acclamation. Both will serve two-year terms in these positions.
Mr. Beatty returns in his second term as Chair with over 30 years of experience implementing and otherwise supporting electronic transaction standards in the grocery, retail, manufacturing, insurance and healthcare industries. Prior to his first term as Chair, he served in several other leadership roles at several levels for many years. Mr. Beatty intends to continue to focus on enhancing the value of X12's work through outreach to other industry groups and improving the organization's processes
Ms. Hetherington also returns in her second term and with more than 20 years of X12 participation, as Vice Chair she intends to continue to foster improved communication with members, stakeholders and representatives to further develop, promote and implement X12's work.
"I'm honored once again to continue as ASC Chair and in continuing to enhance the membership experience with organizational improvements," said Mr. Beatty, "I look forward to continuing to work diligently with the Subcommittee leaders and other representatives to maintain X12's positive trajectory."
