D. BUSINESS CASE/REASON FOR CHANGE:
Manufacturers sometimes create variants of a product that do not require a new product ID (e.g. holiday labeling of a product). However, the product variant has attributes that need to be divulged to consumers in order to accommodate online product purchases. To support these product variants in the product data alignment and order-to-cash business processes, new terminology is being implemented.
E. PROPOSED WORK:
Data Element 432
Add code C4, "Consumer Product Variant Cancelled Date w/ expanded definition: The date on which the cancellation of the consumer product variant launch of a trade item that was never, and will never be manufactured, occurs. "
