Two Types of Responses May Be Requested |

Informal
|
Formal interpretations receive review and approval from ASC X12,
per the Request for Interpretation (RFI) process and also results in a letter (or e-mail) with the
approved response, from the ASC X12 Chair.

Informal interpretations are for issues where the full ASC X12
process is not needed, and a letter from the chair of ASC X12 is not desired.
